Next Tuesday the Class of 2017 at Wapato High School will stage what we think will become a powerful message and trend in the Columbia Basin.

As part of the effort to show younger students the importance of staying in school, and where it can get them, the graduating seniors on Tuesday June 13 will stage Senior Graduation Walks through each of the District's 3 elementary schools.

Dressed in full caps and gowns, the seniors will be conveying the message to the grade school kids how important it is to work hard and stay in school.

The Graduation Walk will happen between 10-11am at Adams, Satus and Camas Elementary schools. The grade school kids will be lining the hallways as the seniors walk by.

Officials plan to make it an annual event.
