The folks at Magoosh.com have assembled a new study that shows which states have the most apprehension among high school students when it comes to testing.

Magoosh is a leading supplier of test study and prep materials for the 9 big high school tests, including the SAT, ACT, and others. They did a survey, talking with about 2,000 students across the country this year to determine which states have the highest test anxiety.

California led the list, with just over 10 percent of students who take such tests feeling extremely 'stressed.'

The rest of the top ten went as follows:

  • 2-Texas
  • 3-Florida
  • 4-New York
  • 5-Ohio
  • 6-Illinois
  • 7-North Carolina
  • 8-Arizona
  • 9-Georgia
  • 10-Michigan.

As for where we landed, Washington was #20, while Oregon came in just ahead at 19. The most 'relaxed' states? Vermont, Montana and South Dakota. Magoosh didn't supply specific criteria for what may lead to this test apprehension, but when it comes to standardized testing, we now know who's sitting on pins and needles.
