A 31-year-old woman is recovering in the hospital after leading Franklin County Deputies on a wild car chase Monday morning.

Giselle Norris was seen stealing mail from mailboxes near Road 68 and Kau Trail Road around 7am Monday morning, according to a witness.

Deputies were called and stopped her car, and at that time they saw mail that didn't belong to Norris, in fact, some of the mail belonged to the wife of a Franklin County deputy!

But Norris sped off when officers opened her driver's side door to arrest her. She had refused to comply to commands to exit the vehicle.  During the chase down Clark Road, Norris lost control and rolled her car onto farmland owned by Douglas Fruit.

She was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition, and will be taken to jail once she recovers from her injuries.
