Thursday night a would-be thief learned the hard way, it's difficult to evade police when you're trying to flee but hang on to the shopping cart.

Police were called to the JC Penney at the mall for a report of a woman who'd exited the store with a cart full of items, worth probably well over several hundred dollars.

The woman tried to flee with the cart, attempting to evade both police and Penney's LPO's (loss prevention officers), but she was quickly 'run down' and captured.

The suspect, 44-year-old Susan Rosalez, was booked on Felony Theft charges, largely due to the amount of merchandise taken. She's also charged with resisting arrest, and obstructing.

Oh, by the way, she had 3 prior outstanding warrants as well.
