Pasco firefighters were quickly able to help extinguish a smoky blaze that engulfed an ice cream truck as it was making it's rounds late last week.

According to police, an issue with the vehicle's radiator and cooling system caused the engine to overheat, resulting in a fire that not only engulfed the engine compartment but also the cab.

Fortunately, the driver escaped injury. The vehicle apparently caught fire while he was driving in town. He was able to pull over and get out before the flames reached the driver's compartment.

NO word on how the ice cream was doing after the blaze.
