Cigarette Tossed From Car Likely Cause of Brush Fire

Kennewick authorities are still investigating the cause of a brush fire Wednesday afternoon that charred some land on West Clearwater near Leslie Road.

Fire units were able to knock it down, but not before it burned it's way down along the sidewalk and part of a lot near the Badger Canyon Coffee Co. stand by Leslie.

It's believed it was caused by a cigarette tossed from a car around 2:15pm. Authorities are asking if anyone in the area saw anything around that time. Any information can be reported at (509)-628-0333.  The reason why they're seeking tips is not only to find who tossed the cig, but as we all know people who are found to be responsible for starting brush fires usually have to pick up the firefighting tab.
