The National Weather Service says we're about to get a very hot blanket of air coming Sunday, August 16.

After a 'warm up' of 98 Saturday, the following warning was issued by the NWS:

EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING
THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 108
  degrees possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central and southeast
  Washington and central, north central and northeast Oregon.

* WHEN...From Sunday morning through Tuesday evening.

*Lows will be mild and not allow much relief from heat, or for it do dissipate, 
likely around low 70's.

--temps expected to drop back into low 90's come Wednesday and Thursday.
