Often people immediately think of pot smokers as "stoners," a perception that's been solidified like cement, especially throughout society.  A group is trying to change that.

Whether it was Cheech and Chong, or the move Fast Times at Ridgemont High, society largely views pot smokers as stoners or underachievers.

The New York-based Drug Policy Alliance is trying to change that image, especially with legalized recreational pot in Washington, Colorado and coming to Oregon.

The group has released 21 new videos this week, showing everything from young trendy people smoking pot with friends, to a young man helping an older person smoke for the first time.

Another shows a woman using a water pipe while doing yoga, and another a group of young people getting high while playing a board game.

The group hopes to establish the idea that pot smokers are not just stereotypical losers, but successful intelligent people from all walks of life, who simply enjoy the well-being and feeling of using pot. Opponents see it as a huge step toward the mass decriminalization of pot.

Last year a video appeared in November showing three grandmothers trying pot for the very first time.  Credit- Mike@cut.com via YouTube.
