Kennewick police had to chase down a felon Tuesday evening.

27-year-old Justin T. Clifton was spotted by officers near East 5th Ave Tuesday evening around 9:30 p.m. Clifton was wanted on an outstanding warrant issued by the Department of Corrections.

When confronted, Clifton ran through several yards, scaled a fence and was eventually caught inside a perimeter set up by officers. A nearby resident called 911 and told police he was hiding in his shed. Upon his arrest, police found a .45 caliber pistol in the yard that had been dropped by the suspect. Before running, Clifton had reached for something tucked in the waistband of his shorts.

He's facing multiple charges including being a felon in possession of a firearm, 2nd degree criminal trespass, and resisting arrest.
