Although pot won't appear in Oregon state stores until 2016, approved growers and processors are already ramping up production.

Unlike Washington state, Oregon is allowing medical dispensaries to sell limited amounts of pot to adults starting in October.

With this new pot industry coming, Oregon officials have cautioned growers to be careful with what pesticides they use for their marijuana crops. Because no pesticides have specifically been approved for use on pot, officials warn growers not to use those that are illegal.

Oregon doesn't yet have rules for pesticide drawn up yet, not have they completed any other regulations for pot farmers.

Officials say the health and safety impact of many of these pesticides has not yet been tested on marijuana, and growers needs to make sure they're not using any that are considered potentially lethal.
