Police have located and are searching a vehicle they say could be connected to Sunday's fatal accident.

After using traffic cameras to help narrow down potential vehicles that may have struck 58-year-old Michael Robinson,  police now say they've impounded a vehicle they say has damage that is consistent with this type of accident.

Robinson was found lying in near the curb of Columbia Center Boulevard Sunday evening around 6:15 pm by a passerby.  He was unconscious and died at the scene from head trauma. Police believe he was struck while crossing the street mid-block between 4th and 5th while on the way home from a nearby Catholic church.

The vehicle was described by police as a late-model Lincoln pickup, it was found a few blocks from where the accident occurred, and was apparently discovered overnight.  Police say they have been in contact with the owner.

But while the vehicle has damage consistent with such an accident, police also say the investigation is not anywhere near finished.  It could still wind up not being the suspect vehicle, and police are still asking for witnesses or anyone with information to call Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at (509)-586-TIPS.
