Hanford is now offering tours of the B Reactor and the current environmental cleanup site.

The B Reactor was the world’s first full-scale nuclear reactor. It was here that the plutonium was produced for the “Fat Man” bomb dropped over Nagasaki, Japan in 1945.

The tour is about four and a half hours and participants must be at least 12 years old. Tours are free.
