A Tri-City couple are behind bars after trying to steal a TV from Sears worth nearly $400.

Tuesday night around 9pm, security and theft prevention officers called Kennewick police to report a man had taken a 32" Samsung TV out of the store towards the parking lot.   They also discovered his accomplice was still inside the store, apparently acting as a lookout.

Police quickly arrested 33-year-old Crystal D. Burke of Kennewick.  Another patrol officer saw the male suspect, identified as 28-year-old Dameon R. Casey, also of Kennewick, attempting to walk away from the suspected getaway car.

Police found he had hidden the television box underneath the car, and was apparently going to return later, load it inside and leave. In an attempt to "disguise" their vehicle from being identified, Casey reportedly had bent the rear license plate up so it was obscured.

Both are now in the Benton County jail on theft, false reporting charges, and Casey was also wanted for outstanding warrants.
