Man Tries to Sell Stolen Trumpet on Craigslist Tri-Cities — Caught by Kennewick Police!

Kennewick police were able to easily apprehend a 21-year-old man who attempted to sell a trumpet worth thousands of dollars on Cragislist.

Alex D. Tanner allegedly stole the instrument from a parked car during the overnight hours of September 23-24th in Kennewick.

The victim then notified police he saw his professional trumpet advertised on the social media sale site!

Police set up a sting operation and apprehended Tanner at the Kennewick Starbucks on Highway 395 and Clearwater Tuesday. Tanner was arrested about 6:20 p.m. after he met who he thought was a perspective buyer. He and a 17-year-old female were taken into custody. He is facing Trafficking Stolen Property charges. The woman was released pending felony charges.
