Teenagers Charged With Arson in Big Oregon Trestle Fire
Three teenagers and a 27-year-old adult are facing charges stemming from a spectacular fire August 10th that not only burned 85 acres of grasslands, but destroyed a railroad trestle in Sherwood, Oregon.
The teens are facing arson charges for deliberately setting a fire that consumed the 85-year-old Portland and Western Railroad trestle. It's considered a total loss.
They are facing reckless burning charges. Also, a 27-year-old adult male is being charged in connection with the crime, for allegedly giving alcohol to a minor. Officials didn't say if that helped lead to the reckless burning.
Sherwood and the trestle are located about 18 miles South of Portland.
