Texting May Have Led To Injury Car Crash Near Ephrata

The investigation continues, but authorities say texting while driving may have led to a rollover crash that left one of the victims pinned underneath the wreckage of the car.
Grant County Sherriffs say 18 year old Michael Jason Clark was driving his SUV near Ephrata Tuesday evening when the vehicle began to drift off the road. He apparently overcorrected, and the vehicle rolled, coming to a rest on it’s top. Neither Clark, nor his passenger, 18 year old Tyler Purcell, were wearing seatbelts. Clark was partially ejected, and pinned under the wreck for nearly an hour. He was taken to the hospital in Wenatchee with serious injuries, while Purcell suffered bumps and bruises.
Police say early indications show Clark was likely texting while driving, and didn’t notice he was drifting off the road.
