The Richland Bomb Squad was called to the 4000 block of West Clearwater Monday, after police say someone found a hand grenade.

It appeared, upon examination, to be "inert," or having had the explosives removed, but the Bomb Squad took possession just to be safe.

It was destroyed. Police did not specify exactly what circumstances led to it's discovery. This is the second grenade found this year in Kennewick, the other being an 'active' current military model discovered by the railroad tracks not far from the Benton County Fairgrounds back in March.
