According to the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA):  "Two more decades of reliable and low-cost power for the Pacific Northwest."

BPA finalizes power contracts with energy providers

After a lengthy process, the BPA announced they have inked new wholesale long-term electric power contracts, with 130 Northwest public power utilities and suppliers.

BPA says it provides rate stability while providing affordable power for a wide variety of customers. BPA is a non-profit Federal agency tasked with delivery carbon-free hydro power from the Columbia Basin to consumers.

According to BPA:

"BPA began the Provider of Choice contract policy process in 2021 and spent four years engaging with customers and other regional stakeholders on policy and contract language. For the rate period beginning in October 2028, BPA will use the newly adopted Public Rate Design Methodology to establish rates under the forthcoming BP-29 Rate Case expected to launch in fall 2027."

Besides the contracts, BPA is also engaging  in some other projects as well. They are working with Energy Northwest to improve the power output of the Columbia Generating Station at Hanford. When completed, the power increase will go up by 160 megawatts, which is enough to power125K homes.
