Drunk Driver Tries to Pick Fight With Officer at Gas Station

A 28-year-old man is in jail after allegedly trying to fight with and resist an officer, who was trying to take him in for dangerous drunk driving.

Just before 2am Thursday morning, police were called by the attendant at the USA Gas station near Clearwater and Edison, for a report of a truck being driven in a 'dangerous manner'.

When police arrived, they found Daniel Rizo Hernandez, and his truck had a shredded left front tire reportedly from hitting another vehicle in the parking lot.

But when officers tried to arrest him for DUI, he began to fight one of the policemen and had to be subdued. So, add assaulting an officer to his DUI charges. Plus, he was already facing a felony charge for assaulting and making threats against his wife from a few days ago.  Winner!....not.
