Just before midnight, Kennewick Police responded to an unusual vehicle theft call.

Around 11:55PM a worker in the area of Clearwater and Union reported their pickup was stolen. The bright red vehicle had a black light display board on top, often used to flash arrows for traffic control. Sometimes they're used as wide load escort vehicles.

A short time later, the truck was seen eastbound on Kennewick Ave. near Olympia. Officers quickly conducted a stop, and the not so bright thief, identified as Travis Irwin, was arrested.

The fact that he was found to be driving impaired probably had something to do with the crime. He's now facing multiple charges and is in the Benton County Jail. The truck was returned to it's owner.
