Hermiston Men Seriously Hurt After Crashing ATV into Moving Car

One man was taken to a Portland hospital after the accident Saturday evening hear Hermiston.

The 7pm accident occurred near the intersection of W. Punkin Center Road and Kirk Road. A 53-year-old man was driving the vehicle with an 18-year-old passenger. Officials didn't describe in detail what occurred but apparently they crashed the ATV into the side of a car that reportedly was moving.

During the crash, the 18-year-old flew off the vehicle and onto the road. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital but then to Portland for treatment.

The older driver was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, listed in critical condition and unconscious. Updates on the two have not been released.

Authorities say neither of them were wearing helmets.
