I-84 Accident Injures 4, 2 Critically, West of LaGrande, OR

Earlier reports of fatalities were inaccurate.

Oregon State Patrol officials report four people were injured, two critically, after an early-morning accident West of LaGrande, OR.  Around 7:40am, a van pulling a trailer rolled off the freeway 18 miles west of town.

Initial reports claimed one person was trapped underneath the wreck and deceased, but first-responders found that person was still alive.   Rescue workers were able to extricate the person.  They and four others were taken to area hospitals by ground and helicopter air units.

Seven other people at the scene did not require treatment.   No other details have been made available
