Join Grocery Outlet in Effort to Crush Hunger
Grocery Outlet in Kennewick is joining with over 250 of their other stores to combat hunger in their communities during the month of July, and it's really easy for you to help!
Grocery Outlet, located at 4th and Olympia in Kennewick, invites to see the easy ways you can be part of their "Independence From Hunger" campaign.
When you're shopping at Grocery Outlet, look for specially marked food items. They've been identified by food banks and others who help battle hunger as "high need items," or foods that families can especially use.
You can also pick up a pre-filled grocery bag, full of these high need items. A portion of these proceeds will go to battle hunger.
And another easy way to help is to donate at the register. You can contribute $1, $5, or more. Quick and easy!
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, USDA, one in six Americans identify as "food insecure," meaning they're not sure where or how they're going to be able to provide enough food for themselves or their family. That works out to about 46.7 million men, women and children.
The folks at Grocery Outlet hope you'll join the effort to declare Independence From Hunger through the end of July. For more information you can visit their website, or just ask when you visit their store in Kennewick.
