Pasco police say a last-minute lane change is likely to blame for a driver ending up with his SUV on top of the Jersey barrier on I-182.

Perhaps his driving with a suspended license was a clue as to his misfortune. The man, who's name was not released, was traveling east on I-182 approaching the Kennewick south exit onto SR-395. At the last minute  he tried to change lanes to take the southbound exit, said police.

While he narrowly missed clipping a semi that was next to him, he didn't miss the Jersey barrier.

Fortunately the man was not seriously hurt, but it turns out he was driving with a suspended license. Washington State Patrol is handling the investigation, with assistance from Pasco police.
