As of March 21st, students, fitness buffs, shoppers, diners etc can breathe fresh air
Indoor mask mandate ends March 21st. in WA with a few exceptions
Thursday afternoon, Gov. Inslee issued an update, and here's what will happen on March 21st. Here's the update:
- schools, gyms, stores, indoor sporting events daycare facilities etc.-no more requirement
- Masks will still be REQUIRED in hospitals, medical-dental offices, assisted-senior care facilities and correctional facilities (prisons-jails)
- Businesses and venues will still have the option, if THEY choose, to require masks or vax proof. But the 'official' requirement will go away.
Good news for Tri-City Americans, and other indoor event promoters
Ending in just about 11 days, the indoor vax proof or negative COVID test requirement for events of 1,000 or higher ends MARCH 1st.
According to Federal law, masks are still required to be worn on airplanes, airliners.
Kennewick School District says per Federal law, masks will still be required on school buses.
Schools will begin to receive information about what cleaning, sanitizing, and other precautions will still be required in the coming weeks.
We don't know if mandatory game-day testing for MS and HS Athletes will remain
Currently, all middle and high schools in the WIAA test their athletes on game days, we do not know if any changes will be made to that procedure. So far, just masks are being dealt with here. We are wondering because of the ending of the indoor vax mandate for large events stopping March 1st. Additional information here from MyNorthwest.com
