Gov. Jay Inslee will unveil House Bill 2030, and it's Senate companion SB 5912 in Olympia.

In the last few weeks, Inslee has met with legislators to discuss ways to make DUI laws even tougher in our state.   The meeting was apparently spurred on by several recent fatalities involving impaired motorists that killed three people and left an infant critically injured.

The bills, which do not have formal names yet, are set to be discussed Tuesday afternoon at a press conference in Olympia.  Inslee and the legislators did not discuss specifics that are included in the bill, but a copy of the original bill that was submitted has been posted on the Washington state legislative website.

Mid-Columbia Representative Larry Haler (R) from Richland is listed as one of the sponsors as is 8th District Rep. Brad Klippert, also of the Tri-Cities (Kennewick).
