Occupy Wall St. Succeeds in Raising Shootings In NYC
Occupy Wall Street, besides causing a definite decline in business for nearby shop owners, HAS succeeded in one other catagory...
According to the NYPD, since the Occupy Wall Street movement started Sept. 17th when the protestors first began, shootings across the city have skyrocketed 154%. Leading police officials say it's because so many resources have had to be assigned to the protest area, it is leaving vulnerable other areas open to crime. The NYPD has a number of special units designed to patrol and respond to high crime areas, and with them having to babysit the protestors, crime in other areas has spiked. When OWS (Occupy Wall Street) desides to march or stage a demonstration, as many as 3,000 police officers are pulled away from other details. And because of OWS, arrests have plummeted 19% since mid September. Fewer police, fewer patrols, fewer arrests. Guess Joe Biden's quip about rapes and murders going up if we don't pass Obama's job's bill should have been directed at OWS.
