Guess he should have stopped and topped off?

A 30-year-old man is in the Walla Walla County Jail, likely awaiting extradition to Oregon, after leading police on a 40-plus mile high speed chase from Hermiston to just outside Burbank.

Wednesday, according to mycolumbiabasin.com, Bradley Hadley of Hermiston, stole an SUV that was left running outside a home in Hermiston around 4:15am.

The victim reported the theft, and soon a Pendleton police officer spotted the vehicle on I-84. He and tribal police units gave chase, and Hadley ran.

He exceeded speeds of 70mph at times as he led authorities on a chase that ended up on Highway 11. Walla Walla County Sheriff's join in after he crossed the WA border. But then a low gas tank doomed Hadley, police say he ran out of gas about 7 miles South of Burbank where he was taken into custody.

He's facing at least three felony charges related to the theft and chase, and he's also been charged with driving on a suspended license.
