Kennewick police say at least two vehicles struck and were damaged by a large rock that was deliberately placed in the path of cars on Clearwater Ave. near McKinley Street.

The rock was placed sometime during the night or early morning hours, and police say from it's position, it was placed there on purpose. It was too large to have otherwise wound up in the road. Police say at the time of the accident, visibility was not the greatest due to the sun just coming up.

One vehicle, a newer model Dodge, had the right front wheel torn completely off it's spindle and suspension after striking the rock.  Anyone with any information is asked to call Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at (509)-586-TIPS.  McKinley street is on the south side of Clearwater, just west of the intersection of Clearwater and Kellogg in Kennewick.
