Public Gives Input for Tri-Ciites Water Park
The public gave feedback on plans for a possible waterpark on Sandifur Parkway just west of the Broadmoor Park Outlet Mall Wednesday night. The event was hosted by the The Tri-Cities Regional Public Facilities District.
The aquatics center would include many outdoor and indoor water amenities for year-round use.
At the meeting many possible features were suggested by local residents including a lazy river, speed slides, tube slides, a competition pool, interactive light fountains, a surf machine, and a waterfall.
The input from this public workshop will be reviewed and a recommendation made to the regional board in April.
The proposed aquatics center is contingent on voters in Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland approving a one-tenth of 1 percent sales-tax increase. The regional board will run the measure in either the August or November elections.
