Joshua Gault, 41, of Richland, will be sent to prison for five years after a nearly three year investigation and trial concluded recently.

Gault was arrested in 2017 after a friend used his laptop and found numerous images of and videos of children engaged in sexual acts. Investigators found over 20,000 such items between the laptop, desktop tower computer and other digital devices.

He went on trial last spring, and had been faces at least 9 felony counts. He was eventually charged at his trial with voyeurism, dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and possession of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct,

Once his five year sentence is finished,  he will be required to register as a sex offender as well.
