Authorities spent much of early Tuesday searching around the Blue Bridge and Columbia River, after getting calls about someone reportedly hanging over the railing.

Monday, Pasco police received two calls from two different people saying they saw what they thought was a woman hanging off the railing on the side of the bridge. Neither caller said the person jumped.

They did say it appeared she was preparing or trying to jump, however.  Columbia Basin Dive Rescue has been searching areas of the river, but has not found anyone, and there have been no reports of any missing persons in the last 24-48 hours.

Police did not say if the person was seen near the shore, or farther out on the structure.  They also did not say if they were on the East or West side of the bridge.

The person was not at the bridge when police arrived after the initial call.  The investigation continues.
