Thursday afternoon a large area of West Pasco was without power after a semi-truck with a tall trailer snagged a number of power lines, snapping them, tilting some poles and knocking others sideways.

Franklin PUD crews quickly responded to Road 100 between Merlot Drive and Argent Street, and within a few hours had service restored.

Wisely, the driver, who was not hurt, stayed in his truck, as some of the lines landed on his vehicle. The rubber tires kept the power from conducting to the ground, but had he risked stepping or even jumping, it could have been a real ZAP for him!
