Marlin Washington Was Set To Eclipse Woodstock's Massive Audience In 1971

Marlin Washington which is also known as Krupp Washington is Washington State's smallest incorporated town in Grant County. The town's population is 49 as of the 2020 census. It was once going to host a music festival the size of Woodstock back in 1971.

Above is what Marlin/Krupp looks like today in 2022

Sunrise 71 was promoted to have an attendance of 50,000 and feature the biggest rock acts of the 1970s over a three-day period but as things were about to get underway, county authorities shut it down.

Marlin/Krupp is now a sleepy little burg in Grant County where I'm sure not much goes on but it almost might have been as legendary as Woodstock if Sunrise 71 was allowed to commence.
