Suspects Busted Towing A Stolen Truck, Cops Also Find Lots of Guns And Ammo
The Adams County Sheriff's office busted two men after a routine traffic stop revealed a truck they were towing was stolen.
Saturday morning, Deputies stopped a Toyota 4runner that was towing what was described as an older Ford truck near Othello.
Deputies say because the truck didn't have proper working lights or tow lights, and it didn't have a license plate, they pulled the 4Runner over. After running a check, the truck was actually reported stolen out of Grant County last August, according to the Columbia Basin Herald.
Two men inside the 4Runner were taken into custody, James E. Van Cleve, the driver, and Richard Rogers. Sheriff's deputies didn't say where the men were from or list their ages. During the initial stop several guns were seen inside the Toyota, violating Van Cleve's felony parole.
The two vehicle were towed from the scene, and searched. Authorities found numerous other firearms, Airsoft guns, and some ammunition inside the Toyota.
