Thanks to a hunch and observation of a Benton County Sheriff's deputy, a wanted Yakima County suspect who's also linked to a number of burglaries is behind bars.

Tuesday, afternoon a Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop a car that was being driven in a suspicious manner at the Ben Franklin Transit park and ride lot in Benton City. However, the driver sped away, nearly hitting the patrol car.

Around 4:30 pm, the chase was terminated because the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Alonso Casillas, drove at such a high rate of speed he was endangering other motorists. But a short time later, his car was seen parked behind a home on River Road. With assistance from Pasco K-9, he was 'persuaded' to come out and surrender.  These pictures show the Deputies were not fooling around when it came to apprehending him!  He was also wanted on a warrant out of Yakima County.

Sheriff's deputies found a lot of stolen property in the car, he is possibly linked to multiple burglaries.
