The 4th And Union Folks in Kennewick Lose Their Brick Wall–Again!
I feel bad for these folks!
NICE LOOKING RETAINING FENCE WALL IN KENNEWICK PLOWED--AGAIN!
Kennewick is the king of roundabouts in the U.S., we know that. Per capita, we're in the top ten for how many we have.
The folks who live on the northeast corner of the roundabout at 4th and Union in Kennewick have seen their nice decorative fence wall get destroyed at least six times in the last couple of years, usually, by drunk drivers. You probably recognize the fence wall yourself. When this picture was taken, it's believed it was in the process of being rebuilt
It's happened again.
THIS TIME WEATHER WAS TO BLAME
Usually, such as this crash at 4th and Kellogg (another roundabout) it's an impaired driver who flunks geometry and sails through it or loses it on the corner (click here to see other story).
But this time, the fence was taken down by the icy roads earlier this week when we got our little bit of snow. This car plowed into the wall around 1:10 AM after failing to stop. Police said impairment did NOT appear to be a factor in the crash.
No word if any of these drivers were held responsible for property damages to the wall, but it looks like they will face another rebuilding job.
