There's been a bit of a changeover in the State Legislature in Olympia. After a number of years of a significant GOP Senate majority while Democrats hold the house, now it's flipped a bit.

There's now a slight Democrat majority in the Senate, while they continue to hold the House. With the retirement of influential Rep. Larry Haler from the 8th District, now a new face steps in.

Long time Kennewick and Tri-Cities influential businessman, educator and veteran Matt Boehnke was sworn in Monday as the newest Rep for the 8th District, which covers Kennewick and parts of Richland. Boehnke won the election to replace the retiring Haler.

He will be on the House Innovation, Technology and Economic Development Committee as well as the Transportation and Environment and Energy Comittee.

Courtesy of GOP PIO Nick Jacob, here is Boehnke's contact information for constituents:

In Olympia, Boehnke can be reached at his legislative office at (360) 786-7986 or via email at matt.boehnke@leg.wa.gov. Constituents who would like to meet with him are encouraged to call ahead and make an appointment with his legislative assistant, Jennifer Palmer.
