Thursday evening, the Tri-City Americans spun around the GESA Carousel of Dreams, to help raise funds for the Americans Continuing Education Fund.

The Western Hockey League, part of the Canadian Hockey League, is not only the biggest supplier of players to the NHL in history, but it has a long legacy of it's Scholarship Program.

Every one of the teams provides tuition help for the players, especially those who are 18-20 and graduated from high school.   They ensure they're able to go to college and pursue a degree for a worthwhile career, so they've got that to utilize when they leave the league.   Not every WHL player makes it to the NHL,  and many former Americans have become successful businessmen,  coaches, teachers - a wide variety of vocations.

Last night's event was a fund-raiser, and it was great to watch the players interact especially with the little ones.

Keep watching here, our Facebook page, and listening to Newstalk 870 for more upcoming public events with the team.
