Washington State Women rejoice as a new bill which will eliminate taxes on feminine hygiene products has just passed in the Senate. Yippee!

Senate Bill 5206 aimed to exempt taxes on feminine hygiene products. This bill would affect over half of the human population, especially women in lower-income households who spend about 18% of their yearly income on taxes. In the last year, 25% of women struggled to afford feminine hygiene products such as tampons or sanitary napkins due to their income.

The Washington Senate on Saturday unanimously passed a measure that exempts feminine hygiene products from the state's sales and uses tax.
