Ok, so we won't be partying like it's 1999 again but Walla Walla is getting into the spirit of the census with a kick-off party on Thursday.

The 2020 Census officially kicks off on Thursday. For the first time, Census responses may be done online. It'll save you having complete strangers knocking on your door when you don't respond to your census request.

Walla Walla is setting up a computer at the Walla Walla Public Library and one set up in the City Manager's suite in City Hall, 15 N. 3rd Ave., for anyone to use to fill out and submit their Census response. It'll make it so easy for you to make sure you are counted.

Remember, the Census is held every 10 years and lets the Government allocate funds and such for your town and region.

Walla Walla Officials say feel free to drop in any time during open hours — no appointment necessary.

The computer in City Hall will be available from 8 a.m.-noon, and 1-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Library is open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays.
