I haven't been able to see anything and I even have a telescope that my wife got me Christmas a few years ago.

I'm learning that it takes some skill to catch a glimpse of the elusive Aurora Polaris or Aurora Borealis as the Northern Lights are scientifically-known.

My friend Laura is vacationing in Alaska and snapped the pictures.

I was doing some research about the Northern Lights and we make it such a big deal here in the Tri-Cities since we don't see them that often here but in other parts of the world, it seems to be a familiar sight.

You can see the Northern Lights in Alaska and Greenland most of the time and my friend Laura snapped these pictures while there.

I'm going to keep using my telescope to see the Northern Lights in the Tri-Cities but for now, enjoy these photos that my friend Laura took.
