From the tens of thousands of unaccompanied children who've been pouring over the U.S. Southern border over the last few months,  several hundred are now in Pacific Northwest.

Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber staged a welcoming ceremony for 50 children who arrived in the state recently, saying they shouldn't be used as "political fodder."

He said Oregon will continue to welcome children "fleeing hardship" until Congress "changes immigration policies" - whatever that means.

Perhaps the Governor should look at the White House and administration if he's going to talk about using people for political purposes.

Health and Human Services released some data in the last week about where these children are being relocated.  Washington has received about 211 of the immigrants.

How and where they are being specifically cared for has not been revealed by Federal officials
