With nearly all the ballots counted, it appears an advisory measure that would allow pot business within the Benton City limits is passing.

The plus margin has grown to 48 for the measure, which would be used as an advisory to the City Council about whether to lift their ban, and allow pot related business in the city.

The votes were 544 yes, 496 no so far. According to auditor's records, there's about 1,700 total ballots left to be counted for all Benton County voting activity.  Only the residents in Benton City were voting on this pot measure.

The City Council would still have to make the final decision about whether to lift the ban, but the input from the  measure would provide guidance.
