Now, according to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, evidence proves that Hank the tank hasn't been acting alone. DNA evidence shows that at least 3 bears were involved in the more than 28 break-ins.

Before this, Hank the Tank was thought to be the sole suspect of all the destruction. He was blamed for damaging 33 homes on his own. Because Hank has lost his fear of people, there was also a possibility that he would have to be euthanized.

Because there are multiple bears involved is great news for Hank!

The Department of Fish and Wildlife plans to trap the bears, tag them, collect evidence for genetic analysis, and then release them into more appropriate habitats.

None of the bears will be euthanized in this effort.
