Organizers for Leavenworth's Oktoberfest are saying that they'll move the event to Wenatchee starting next year in 2022 after 23 years of being in Leavenworth.
Oktoberfest organizers took to social media this week to announce the move. The city of Leavenworth denied a permit for 2022 for Oktoberfest.
Why Is Oktoberfest Moving From Leavenworth?
According to the Facebook posting, the organizers said the new administration in the city of Leavenworth denied a permit for 2022 so organizers are moving Oktoberfest to nearby Wenatchee at the Town Toyota Center. Organizers say that they'll look for a permanent location after 2022.
Is Oktoberfest Going On This Year In Leavenworth?
There is one more weekend coming up for this year's Oktoberfest that'll occur on October 15th and 16th.
The current 2021 event has a "street-fair" vibe but next year the organizers are working on the return of live entertainment, an expanded kids section, VIP experiences, free parking, carnival, and all imported German beer.
How Do I Get To Oktoberfest From Leavenworth?
Organizers say that they'll offer shuttle services for the event from Leavenworth to Wenatchee next year.
