Of the 11 candidates who vied for Council position 4 in Pasco following the death of Mike Garrison in July, 5 were interviewed, and this week the council made their decision.

Chi Flores was overwhelmingly chosen by the council to fill Garrison's seat. According to Mayor Matt Watkins:

“The Council had a tough choice, as all the candidates we interviewed brought excellent qualifications to the table,. However, Mr. Flores’ obvious commitment to the City was evident and he will make an excellent addition to the Council.”

Mr. Flores will, per State laws and Pasco municipal codes, be running for re-election in 2017. He will assume his City Council duties immediately. He works as an assistant manager at Lowe's Home Improvement store in Pasco, and has been a resident of the city for three years.

The area he will represent from Northwest Pasco is pictured below. The I-182 interchange is in the lower middle area of the district.
