A North Ireland company has released a new artificial intelligence product that they say can help improve health and productivity in dairy cattle.

Cattle Eye is a new program, used on over 100K cows worldwide

The company was launched in 2019 by family members from a dairy family, and in 2021 Cattle Eye began to be marketed.

According to foodbev.com, the program uses surveillance cameras to video cows as they are leaving the milking barn.  The A.I. in the program scans the cow head to toe and produces what's called a Body Condition Score.  According to foodbev:

"CattleEye is an artificial intelligence system designed to quickly detect and predict lameness in cows and to provide critical data to assess the body condition score."

The data can help a farmer achieve a healthier and more productive herd by providing specific information on how to keep each cow at maximum health, it helps farmers specify feed needs for each animal. The pinpoint information about the animal (based on its behavior and physical performance and condition) can also help a farmer detect health issues, and results in healthier and more productive cows.
