Police Hunch Leads to Arrest of Armed Wanted Suspects
The CAT, or Criminal Apprehension Team, of the Kennewick Police Department gets a lot of busts just because they're using extra patrols, and keeping their eyes peeled for suspicious and weird activity.
Police saw a car parked near 1st. and Quincy Streets very early Friday morning in Kennewick, three men sitting inside. When officers approached, they clearly saw a gun sitting in plain sight next to the man in the back seat.
They also saw clear evidence of drug activity. After questioning and searching the car and suspects, 21-year-old Michael P. Wood, 19-year-old Joshua W. Verdun were both arrested for various warrants, including Verdun being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The third man, a 22-year-old male, was released. The vehicle, which appears to be possibly a Chrysler 300, was impounded and searched.
