State Blames COVID Spread by Travel for Some Hunting Cancellations
According to information released by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, the reason for canceling the annual Turkey Hunt for youth slated for April 4-5 and the spring bear hunt, is travel.
Fish and Wildlife officials are concerned that hunters traveling to areas of the events might help spread the COVID-19 virus. The Department says on their website they will reassess on April 6 whether to re open several "impacted" hunting areas and will re-examine several other hunting seasons coming up.
